Hailing from Kingston, Jamaica, Vybz Kartel is one of the leading artists in taking the genre of dancehall globally. Regarded as one of the biggest artists to come out of Jamaica, Kartel has done amazing work in influencing an entire generation of musicians, including rapper Drake who called Kartel an “inspiration.” The singer-songwriter has over two decades worth of outstanding studio records, releasing a total of 24 albums, six of which made waves on the US Billboard Reggae charts. Just earlier this year, Vybz Kartel’s EP Play with Me earned him his first Grammy nomination for Best Reggae Album. Kartel has also received a ton of other accolades, including multiple Artist of the Year Awards and the prestigious MOBO Impact Awards.
