The NIT Season Tip-Off will include some of the current best college-level basketball teams. Watch in awe as Baylor, Pitt, Florida and Oregon State go head to head as they fight for the title of champions. The four teams will battle it out at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. After the semifinals on Wednesday, the two victors will go straight to the finals game on Friday, the 24th of November, 2023.

The countdown has started… ESPN has finally announced the return of the annual NIT Season Tip-Off. After a pause in the tradition in the 2022-23 season, they will be back this year to bring the best college basketball teams straight to Brooklyn, New York. This highly-anticipated event is one of the biggest tournaments in college-level basketball and you don’t want to miss out on this! Calling all fans and people from Baylor, Pitt, Florida and Oregon State, this is your chance to show your support for the beloved teams as they battle it out for the crown! Who will take home this year’s trophy for the NIT Season Tip-Off?

The main event for the finals will be held at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on Friday, the 24th of November, 2023. The game for 3rd place will commence at 3 PM ET followed by the championship game at 5:30 PM ET.

The NIT Season Tip-Off has been a mainstay in the early season basketball tournament landscape for the previous three decades. The NIT, which is hosted annually over Thanksgiving week in New York City, has drawn some of college basketball's best programs to the Big Apple. The inaugural NIT Season Tip-Off, held in November 1985 as the early-season counterpart to the playoff NIT, set the tone for what was to come. The original field contained three teams that advanced to the NCAA tournament and the Final Four in the postseason: Louisville, Duke, and Kansas.

From then, the NIT Season Tip-Off continued a history of kicking off the collegiate basketball season in the heart of New York with excellent tournament fields. Seven tournament participants have gone on to win the national championship that season (the most recent being Villanova in 2016). Several of college basketball's greatest players have appeared in the NIT Season Tip-Off, including Danny Manning, Shaquille O'Neal, Allen Iverson, Paul Pierce, Pervis Ellison, and Christian Laettner.
